About Our School

For the 2007-2008 school year, we have 3 sections of fifth grade, fourth
grade, third grade and first grade. Our second grade has 4
sections. We also have 4 sections of kindergarten. Our school has a transitional grade, pre first grade, between kindergarten and grade one. A learning support and academic enrichment program provides for the needs of some of our students.
Full time specialist teachers in art, library, reading, music, and physical education complement our classroom program.
Technology has been added through the district to achieve the goal of a computer in every classroom.
There is internet access in each of the classrooms. Our library has added new equipment
as well as our computer lab. There is internet access
available on all library and computer lab machines. Students
attend computer class once a week.
The Pearl S. Buck School offers a "prevention and intervention" program for all of our students through the
ASSIST
team. Our focus is on identifying children who may be experiencing difficulty with basic learning or life skills.
To provide assistance to students, teachers, and families, team
members follow a well-designed process.
Pearl S. Buck has a tradition of high community involvement and a strong teaching
staff - an unbeatable combination.
